LogTuber Privacy Policy

What LogTuber does

LogTuber is a Chrome extension that helps users learn from YouTube subtitles. It provides synced bilingual subtitles, contextual word and phrase explanations, local learning notes, and note export tools.

Data we may process

• Google sign-in profile information, such as user ID, email, name, and avatar.
• Subtitle text selected by the user, the current subtitle sentence, nearby subtitle context, and video title.
• Usage quota metadata, such as monthly model request counts.
• Technical request metadata, such as request time, IP address, and error status for service reliability and abuse prevention.

Data we do not collect

• LogTuber does not record microphone audio.
• LogTuber does not download YouTube videos or audio.
• LogTuber does not sell user data.
• LogTuber does not read unrelated browsing pages for advertising or profiling.

How model requests work

Model requests are triggered when the user asks for translation or contextual explanation. The request may include the selected text, the full subtitle sentence, nearby subtitle context, target language, and video title so the model can provide a more accurate explanation.

Local notes

In the MVP version, learning notes are stored locally in the user's browser with IndexedDB. Future cloud sync or web notes features will require explicit implementation and user-facing disclosure.

• Google OAuth for sign-in.
• Cloudflare Pages for hosting this website.
• Alibaba Cloud Function Compute for backend API hosting.
• Volcengine Ark model APIs for translation and contextual explanation.

Limited Use statement

LogTuber uses Google user data only to provide user-facing account, quota, and sign-in features. LogTuber does not use Google user data for advertising, does not sell Google user data, and does not transfer Google user data except as needed to provide or improve the user-facing functionality of the service.
